Bentley Mulsanne Key Celebrates Its Centenary

Bentley's bespoke coachbuilding division, Mulliner, has designed an exclusive key case to celebrate the brand's centenary. It's made of Dark stained Walnut with Piano Black Veneer and includes an eagle-like "B" paperweight keys, as well as an album of never-before-seen 1930s 8 Litre images.

Aesthetics

Bentley is a brand who takes its aesthetics seriously. It is evident in the precise position of its quilting, the choice of leather sourced from by-products of cattle production, the wood that comes from sustainably managed forests and the innovative patterns on its levers. The Continental GT is the most sophisticated open-top Bentley ever designed. The rear of the tonneau in the Continental GT, for instance was the largest piece of dark-stained Burr Walnut veneer that was book-matched. Similarly, the electrically-operated glass sunroof and champagne cooler that incorporated hand-blown and hand-cut lead crystal bottles marked a new benchmark in luxury and innovation.

It is this bespoke design, craftsmanship and attention to detail that has established Bentley as the most sought-after automotive brand. The company is constantly pushing the boundaries with the latest technology and craftsmanship. Design

Bentley has announced a special specification for cars manufactured after 2019 to celebrate its centennial. This is called the Centenary Specification. The cabin has cross-stitching, and contrast stitching in Centenary Gold throughout. The Bentley Wings on the headrests and seats are embroidered with Centenary Gold, adding to the sense of celebration. Function

The key is made of vegetable tanned leather. It takes two days to make each one. It is hand cut, shaped, sewn, sealed and polished to provide a high-quality finish. Secure-A-Key is also included to protect against keyless entry theft. The device is inserted into the remote control fob and disables it when the key has not been used for more than a few minutes. Guests sit at a series of images referred to as "mood stations" and pick a collection of photos ranging from scenic vistas to sporting events - that can inspire them.
