Choosing a Double Pushchair Twin

Side-by-Side

This is the most common double pushchair. It is usually able to accommodate two children side-by-side. They are generally wider than single pushchairs, which means they're less agile on footpaths and can be a little tricky to navigate through kerbs with a car seat attached. However, the extra width does mean that they're generally easier to navigate through doorways and are distributed more evenly making them more comfortable on your back.

Tandem

If you are planning to have twins, you'll require a tandem pushchair. This will allow both children to sit together and interact with each one another. These are great for things like going to the zoo because the kids will be able to look at all the animals together. They are also great for parents who have to keep an eye on their toddler and the other on their baby since they can look at both at the same time.

Some tandem pushchairs car seats are very adaptable, as they can be converted back to single mode. This is especially useful for families with more children than two (or if your eldest child does not require the buggy anymore). This will prevent you from having to store an empty buggy which can be expensive.

Remember that tandems are heavier and longer, and they may feel less stable when you bump into kerbs and going over uneven surfaces. These pushchairs also need to be dismantled for fitting into cars.
